This is a good one. 23-year-old Pam Smart had an affair with Billy Floyd in 1990, a freshman at the New Hampshire high school where she worked as a media director. She and her adolescent beau conspired in murdering her husband. (Not-so) Smart said Floyd and his friends acted alone. The police didn’t buy it, and she’s been locked up in upstate New York since 1991 for accomplice to first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and witness tampering. On the bright side, she actually got a movie deal out of her story. Sort of. She was the inspiration behind the 1995 Nicole Kidman flick, To Die For….
